Play tennis at Llandaff Fields

Llandaff Fields lie in the heart of Cardiff, running along the plain of the Taff river and reaching up to the ancient cathedral in Llandaff. The Fields are always open and readily accessible. They are incredibly popular with local residents from Pontcanna, Canton, Llandaff and beyond. There is parking close by, a small cafe called the Chestnut Tree and a range of leisure and sporting facilities, including ten asphalt tennis courts.

Join us - Wednesday (6pm) and Sunday (5pm)!

If you're interested in tennis, why not join us for some great fun and healthy exercise, whatever your standard of play. At the moment and weather permitting, we run adult social sessions every Wednesday evening at 6pm and every Sunday at 5pm.

About us

We are a club run by residents of Pontcanna and Canton who are keen to maintain our tennis facilities. We are just starting up again so it's a great time to get involved.

Tennis players at Llandaff Fields owe a debt of gratitude to Rob Thomas, a well known Cardiff tennis coach who first set up a club here in the early Nineties. Rob, Steve Lloyd and many others made Llandaff Fields a great place to play social tennis for many years.

About Us

Image 4

We are a club run by residents of Pontcanna, Canton and adjoining areas. We are just starting up again so it's a great time to get involved. We only do adult social tennis at the moment but if there is demand, we can look at tennis for youngsters and organising coaching sessions.

The Club was first set up by Rob Thomas, Steve Lloyd and others twenty years ago. The tennis courts are well used but have been threatened by inappropriate development plans so it's really important that local residents make even more extensive use of the facilities. We're grateful to Cardiff Council who maintain the courts and we look to them for continuing support for the next twenty years.

The parks and fields of Cardiff are an essential part of Cardiff's reputation as a green, lively social and healthy city. There is room for the wildlife, the gardens, the summer barbecues, the football, rugby, bowls, tennis, children's play areas, new cafe facilities and more.
